Very original big series 37 Roadmaster. Repainted in 2001. In stock for over 20 years in Denmark. Only 58,712 original miles (93,940 km). Imported to Denmark in 2002. VIN: 3004462.
The 320 cid (5.3 litre) straight 8-cylinder engine is original and runs very fine. Rated at 130 horsepower. 3-speed manual transmission with floor replacement and a custom-made BUICK logo shift button. Very strong hydraulic brakes. A new 6 volt battery has just been installed. The interior is original and could use some new coatings, but it can be used as is. The car has some homemade wires for the lights to upgrade. Walking down the road very strong and getting lots of attention. I will include an authentic looking plastic replica Tommy Gun with the sale of the car. 😊
This model is one of the last Buick models to be produced with a hitch. The smaller series cars were now steel bodies. Very few of these survived rust and wood tips. This was a very expensive luxury car in its time. This car came from Tucson, Arizona, and was supposed to be owned by a doctor initially. The ART DECO details on this model are everywhere. From glass (non plastic) light lenses to the accented strap bases in the rear seating area. There are 2 cigarette lighters in the rear area with a vent window with a hand swing to either side of the passenger area. A folding footrest, a cord mounted on the back of the front seat and a roll-up screen to the rear window are some of the other luxury decorations in the passenger area. The rare original AM radio still in the dashboard (the stepboards act as the radio’s antenna), the original heater is complete, there is a clock in the carnation box door. Suicide doors are a classic feature. There’s a broken spring in the lock on the driver’s back door, that’s why we’re not opening it. This car has a factory locking steering wheel in 1937….
The body is very nice and stainless. The curves and details speak for themselves. Nice step boards and duel side mounted spare wheels with correct covers complete the formal look. There is only one lock cylinder in the doors and it’s on the passenger front door.
The car was originally blue and the current paint is blue with a small pearl added. It’s not metallic. The 6 wide white wall tires are in as new condition. All repair manuals and some other interesting things come with the car.
All things considered, this is a rare original, complete luxury car. I think it’s the only one of its kind in Denmark. Great for weddings and formal occasions.
