In 1972, Cadillac only produced 960 of these 9 passenger limousines. From Los Angeles, California. I was told that the first owner of this limousine was the man who designed the international space station, but there was no confirmation. Original car with no rust Was originally black and has received a cheap low quality repaint in the states. The paint needs to be repaired, redone from maybe a plastic foil? If it was me I would paint it black again
472 cid (7.8 litre) Cadillac V8 with a newly built TH400 automatic transmission. Fully loaded with all kinds of possibilities. Electric windows, electric window between front and rear seats, AC (worked when imported), dual AM/FM radios, power steering, power brakes, tilt steering wheel, leather front seat. The steering wheel is very nice, they are usually sunburnt. Good tires, new battery and generator. The car runs very fine and drives straight on the road. The brakes are working as they should. The body is very much equal with some paint defects and a couple of ”Bilka Bumps”. Chrome bumpers are straight and chrome is nice. Doors all work great as all windows. A generator mounting bracket has cracked and we are looking for a replacement. There is a small leak in the exhaust manifold gasket. We fixed this earlier and had some broken manifold bolts so we had to remove the heads and fix them. This means it will be easy to replace the gaskets this time. The air conditioner is good and the car does not overheat.
All of this considered a fine example of early 70s luxury in need of a loving hand. Most limousines on the market have been used as glorified taxis. When something was broken they were fixed in the cheapest fastest way possible so they could be back on the road making money. When they broke more than they worked, they were sold at a cheap price. The next owner quickly figured out why the car was so cheap… This is not the case with this car !!
Imported to Denmark in 2004 and stored since. The kilometer shows 38,392 miles. I think the correct kilometer is 138,392 miles (221,427 miles. ). This is a great car for a wedding drive, notice how the back door is taller than the front door. Easier to get in and out of. Wrapping it in advertising foil could be a great sales tool for a club or restaurant… Or ???? The possibilities are only limited by your imagination.
